The Zimmerli is open to the public and offers FREE admission to all!

Museum Hours

Sunday, Saturday noon–5 p.m.
Monday, Tuesday Closed
Wednesday, Friday 11 a.m.–6 p.m.
Thursday 11 a.m.–8 p.m.

The museum is closed Mondays, Tuesdays, major holidays (see below), and in August. Tours may be scheduled starting at 11 a.m., but require 3 weeks' advance notice. Learn more on our Tours page.

Summer Hours (May 8 to July 31)

  • The Zimmerli closes at 6 p.m. on Thursdays.
  • The Zimmerli lobby is closed to the public on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Holidays

The museum is closed Juneteenth (Observed third Friday of June), July 4, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, and December 25 to January 1.

Gallery Closures / Activity

  • November 15-16, the Lower Dodge Gallery is closed all day.
  • November 20, the Lower Dodge Gallery is hosting a publicly accessible lecture organized by Rutgers University's Art History Department. The lecture takes place from 4:30-5:45 PM. The gallery remains open during this time.
