SparkNight: Disability Awareness
Join us for SparkNight in October to celebrate Disability Awareness Month at Rutgers with museum-wide activations of the Zimmerli’s major special exhibition Smoke & Mirrors! This event is open to everyone and aims to highlight and honor the diverse experiences and talents within the disability community. Throughout the evening are a variety of inclusive activities including:
Art Workshop / Drop-in, interactive workshop to create Alt-Text Selfies with artists Bojana Coklyat, Finnegan Shannon, and Olivia Dreisinger.
Performance / Jerron Herman presents Lax, a site-responsive, interactive performance and score which the interdisciplinary artist has activated at museums like The Met and The Guggenheim. Designed to guide visitors’ energy to create moments that honor our bodies’ needs for comfort, play, and rest. With specially designed objects and costume by artist Sugandha Gupta.
Conversation / Sugandha Gupta, artist featured in Smoke & Mirrors, in conversation with Jerron Herman, moderated by Francisco Eraso.
Thank you to all our campus and community partners in presenting this event!
