The Brodsky Center's Legacies: A Conversation with Lynne Allen
Join us for a conversation with artist Lynne Allen, in connection with the Zimmerli's special exhibition The Brodsky Center at Rutgers University: Three Decades, 1986–2017. Allen speaks about her art practice and tenure as a former director of the Brodsky Center.
The discussion is moderated by Ferris Olin, Guest Curator and Distinguished Professor Emerita, Rutgers University; and Judith K. Brodsky, Distinguished Professor Emerita, Rutgers University.
Lynne Allen is a Professor of Art at Boston University and inaugural chair of the Master of Fine Art program in Print Media + Photography. She previously served as the University's Director of the School of Visual Art (2006-15) and Dean ad interim of the College of Fine Arts (2015-17). Prior to Boston University, she was Professor of Art at Rutgers University, Director (2000-2006) and Associate Director (1989-2000) of the Brodsky Center (formerly the Rutgers Center for Innovative Print and Paper), as well as Master Printer and Educational Director at Tamarind Institute. Allen holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of New Mexico and a Master of Art for Teachers from the University of Washington. Allen’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and is included in collections at the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Museum of Modern Art Library, the New York Public Library, New York; the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.; and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, among others.
