Hank Willis Thomas Selects: NJ Arts Annual
Conceptual artist and activist Hank Willis Thomas (born 1976; Plainfield, New Jersey) is the juror for the 62nd New Jersey Arts Annual. Open to artists living or working in New Jersey, the NJ Arts Annual reflects its breadth of artistic practice. Organized in partnership with museums across the state, the exhibition rotates annually among host institutions. This exhibition marks the Zimmerli's inaugural presentation.
Artwork submissions open now through May 1, 2026.
The New Jersey Arts Annual is sponsored by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
This exhibition is made possible through generous support from donors to the Zimmerli’s Major Exhibition Fund: Kathrin and James Bergin, Sundaa and Randy Jones, Heena and Hemanshu Pandya, and Mark L. Pomerantz.
The Zimmerli’s operations, exhibitions, and programs are funded in part by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and income from the Avenir Endowment Fund and the Andrew W. Mellon Endowment Fund, among others. Additional support comes from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, and the museum’s donors, members, and friends.
Generous support for bilingual text was provided by Art Bridges Foundation’s Access for All program.
