A Gift in Honor of Tyler Clementi: Dale Chihuly's Rivera Blue Macchia Chartreuse Lip Wrap
Dale Chihuly is recognized as the world's most important glass artist and has been the subject of many museum exhibitions, books, and films. In 1968, after receiving a Fulbright Fellowship, he went to work at the Venini glass factory in Venice where he witnessed the team approach to blowing glass. Working with a team of master glassblowers and assistants has enabled him to produce glass art at a scale and in a quantity that would be impossible working alone or with a single assistant. This sculpture was given to the Zimmerli as a gift from Michael Sodomick in honor of the Trevor Project and in memory of Tyler Clementi.
