Art Together

Saturdays / 10-11am
October 3, November 7, and December 5

Art Together is back – virtually – and we’re ready to get creative with you and your family! For the October session, we will look at a few still life works in the Zimmerli’s collection and then teach you the secrets to arranging and drawing your own still life. For this project, all you need is paper, a pencil, and 3 or 4 items from around the house, i.e.: fruit, vegetables, cleaning products, stuffed animals – whatever you wish! If you have colored pencils or crayons, feel free to bring those along to add a little pizazz to your still life. Artists of all ages are welcome, but this session is best suited for those ages 6-13, and their grown-ups.

As always, Art Together is free and you can stay as long as you like. Please register here for access to the program. (Registration accepted up to program time.)

Can’t join us at that time? The program will be recorded and shared on our Zimmerli At Home site to watch whenever works best for your family.

This fall, we're offering two exciting virtual art workshops for adults:

Impression Collage with Wes Sherman
Saturday, October 24 / 10:00-11:30am
In this workshop, you'll explore various techniques for rubbings to capture different textures and forms, and then use those to create a collage. This workshop, inspired by our exhibition "The Natural World in the Anthropocene," includes a brief discussion of several works in the show.

Watercolors: At Sea with Tom Rutledge
Saturday, November 14 / 11:00am-1:30pm
Advance your watercolor skills as you create your own interpretation of a nautical scene from the Zimmerli’s collection.

No experience necessary and all are welcome. Participants must provide their own materials. Supply lists for each workshop will be sent with the Zoom link once payment is received. Please note that the workshops will be recorded for the museum’s archive but recordings will not be made public.

Each workshop costs $20 ($15 for Zimmerli members). Sign up for both and receive a 10% discount.

Register here.

A Zimmerli Education staff member will follow up within 2 business days to get payment information. Seating is limited, so register early to ensure your spot! If you have questions, please contact us at
